1985 Wayne Hill founder and director of Windspeed Yachts developed his first 12m sailing catamaran at age 19.

1985 Develops first underwing length, hull inboard flair.

1985 Develops first swim deck with inboard cutaway and steps.

1997 Perfects efficient composite compound curve male mold manufacturing.

1997 Develops first full length hull inboard flair.

1997 Develops first composite bowsprit for headsails.

1998 Produced first Windspeed 50.

2003 Design Windspeed 48. This design also known as the Mumby 48, she becomes the most popular and successful aluminum cruising catamaran ever designed, with over 1,000,000nm under the hulls.

2005 Develops first 15m x 3.6m resin infused composite panel manufacturing table.

2005 Develops first resin infused composite panels for yacht construction.

2005 Provide resin infusion training workshop to leading yacht manufactures to diffuse our technology throughout the marine industry.

2006 Teach the teachers at Partec, Australia’s leading composite education and technology diffusion facility how to vacuum infuse composites.

2006 Exhibit our resin infused composite panels and our innovative nano gelcoat at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show.

2006 and 2007 Exhibits at Shanghai Boat Shows in China.

2006 and 2007 Participate in Queensland government marine trade missions to China.

While our passion and main business is producing sailing and power catamarans,

over the years the design innovation and value of Windspeed Yachts composite technology became apparent to many leading manufactures,

we have formed mutually beneficial alliances to produce composite products for others.

We solved their problems while adding value to their products.

2006 Design the first fishing kayak, and produced the rotomolding tooling plug.

2006 Develops first composite panel kits for caravans, 5th wheelers, motorhomes, trailers and trucks.

2006 Develops vanity basin plugs and mass production molds for house bathrooms.

2008 Design the first 2 person fishing kayak, and produced the rotomolding tooling plug.

2008 Develops large rollable composite sheets, enabling easy transportation.

2008 Develops our unique composite panel jointing system.

2008 Develops CNC machining expertise for accurate cutting of our composite panels.

2009 First export shipment of our CNC cut composite panel kits for yacht construction.

2009 Develops folding transportable composite buildings and composite building kits.

2010 After 25 years of innovative yacht design and composite manufacturing excellence Windspeed Yachts founder and director Wayne Hill retrains as a superyacht captain, 200ton commercial for global operation and sets sail.

2011 Captain 20m steel ketch from Australia to the Mediterranean.

2013 Develops first forward, lifting, and self leveling hydrofoils.

2013 Develops design improvement # to our 1985 stabilizing rudder hydrofoils.

2013 Develops first semicircular, semi planning hull for a sailing catamaran.

2013 Develops from the 1985 Windspeed 40 the Windspeed 43.

2015 Develops first skiff hulled, composite yacht tender.

2019 Develops first composite hydraulicly operated submersible dive platform / aft deck.

2019 Develops first in flybridge master cabin.

2019 Developed from the 2018 Windspeed 45p the Windspeed 55 power catamaran.
